Since even in the stock ecu the secondaries don't begin to input until around 2750 RPM it would appear to me that only the primaries would fire. Therefore, if theis is the case with the PFC then only sequential or banked configurations are possible.

To add more confusion to the fire, try this link to a Haltech thread on the OTHER Forum

Yeah... That thread only confuses me more!

From the Haltech Page

"Haltech E6K Plug-in Harness Adapter

RX7 FD3S (93-95)

132-8105

Fuel injection mode: Staged, Batch

Fuel injectors are split into two groups: primary and secondary. Two primary fuel injectors initially are active (both fire at the same time) until two secondary fuel injectors are phased in (all four fuel injectors - primaries and secondaries - fire together) as defined by the staging bar (dependent on engine load)."

Going back through Steve's site (Lightening in a World of Thunder). It may be that we ARE looking at a Staged, Batch system in the PFC as well. Which would mean the primaries will fire together until the Threshold RPM is reached and then the Secondaries come on line and all fire at once.

Get this, I just called SR Motorsports where I got my PFC from to ask them what the injection mode on a FD is. Their answer is that the PFC can be set to do, multiport, batch, banked or staged depending on how they set the parameters. Then he tells me that he can't tell me anything else until I have the serial number of my PFC that I bought from them. When I told him the problem was that the primaries wouldn't engage unless I tied the grounds together he told me it sounded like a PFC problem-----> I don't think I'll be calling them back soon!

WOW Jeff. Thanks for all the research. So, although something still isn't exactly right it may not be as harmful to run like this as initially thought? I don't plan on it, but just asking out of curiosity..

Sounds like SR want's to make a quick buck or you just confused the hell out of someone..

You know, now that I think about it.. I guess I could hook a noid light to EACH plug simultaneously to see if they blink at the same time while cranking.. the noid tested good on both primaries, so I'd imagine I'd see SOMETHING. I could also then re ground them together and see if the blink pattern changes.. Or is just stronger..? I could be way off in left field.. Just an idea.

It simply cannot be your PFC since you tested the car with another and a stocker. SR is full of it.

I assume that when you try to turn the car over unjumpered, you have dry sparkplugs regardless of how long you try to start it---right? Don't ask me where I am going with that yet, I don't want to make anyone's confusion worse.

yeah when we un-jumped the injectors and tried to start the car, there was zero fuel on the plugs and none in the DP as well.

OK, that's what I hoped. Not going to be a synchronizing issue, Thank god.

Try posting this in the PFC section on the other forum. Theres some guys there like Chuck Westbrook who knows the PFC inside and out. They may be able to help you a little more then we can.

here's the thing almost always if the noids work the injector wiring system and controllers are ok. instead of trying to hunt a electrical issue try a new injector i know of people who have gotten their injectors cleaned at rc and got them back and none of them worked they ohmed ok also just the pintle was stuck.
