Honestly... I swear I have checked EVERYTHING!!!! The harness checks out good. I ohmed the whole damn thing.. No weird interference, perfect continuity, you name it. Both injectors are good. I know that cause they both work when I jerry rig them..

Here's the deal: I get NO FUEL (dry!) when I try to start the car. BUT.. If I tie the 2 stupid injector grounds (lg/r - lg/b) if fires right the **** up. Where is there a relation besides the ECU??

do the Crank angle sensors have anything to do with it? There are 2 of them right? Do they seperately control injector pulse and ignition fire or what? Could one be malfuntioning?

The ONLY things I haven't done is have someone crank it while I probe each injector plug to look for pulse (Or use that noid light) and swapped ECUs.. Other than that I've done it. Something in me says that one injector is getting pulse and one is not... and when I tie them together they both work... but that CAN'T be as there isn't any fuel AT ALL with them undone..

I know it's yet ANOTHER thread.. But I figure if I keep re-wording it SOMEONE will get it!! Cause I sure aint!!

I haven't swapped ECU's either.. Mine was new, unopened until I installed it. I never had a battery to it until this week.. Everything is grounded, nothing is wrong I swear.. Could I have the WRONG ECU?? I bought it unused from someone who sold their FD before installing it.. He got it from Japan BUT: said he ensured it was the right one.. How would I know? It's in english... Nothing looks funny..

This is breaking my ******* heart!

damn, the 2 easiest things, are the ones you did not try!!! you are on the doorstep to the "process of elimination"

try swapping in a stock ecu

oh and if it's the ecu, and you have no warranty, PM me and I'll tell you who fixed a FRIED PFC once, maybe they will fix yours

I know... I work backwards!!

I've just been denying the ECU as I can't afford to replace it if that is the problem lol..

Oh, and I'll keep that in mind if it is the ECU.. I don't think it's fried... but it may be the wrong one.. MY LUCK!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

oh, do you have the commander? what does it say when you power up the car?

turbovr6 02-24-2004 08:31 PM

I know how you feel, I was so happy to put my car back togeher, then 3 weeks of heartache as it would not run. mine was the oppisite of yours, fucker would flood so bad, then I fixed the flooding(which btw was leaking brand new injectors).

I had this same problem on my t2. I dont know if you read that section or not, but i finally got it. My and a friend of mine tried to find the source of the problem for a few hours every night for about a week. I tested EVERY electrical part on the damn car.. lol. Anyways.. this is what i would do if i was in your spot, knowing what i know now.

Hook those noid lights up ASAP. If you arent getting pulse to the injectors then you have a break in power or ground. There is 1 wire that sends power from the ecu to the injectors, once it gets close to the injectors that 1 power line splits to 4. There are 4 grounds for injectors at the ecu. So at the ecu, there is 1 power, and 4 grounds. Well im my case i was getting power at the ecu, but NOT at the injectors. Found out later it was that 1 power wire, broken somewhere in the middle of the harness.

I then jumpped the 'break' by running a line from the main relay to the injector power wire. Hence bypassing that little broken spot. Worked fine after i did that.

But check those noid lights, cause if its not getting any fuel then either the crank angle isnt on working or the injectors arent working. And if when you begin to start the car, and you see the revs jump up and down a little as it cranks, the crank angle IS working. So its an injector problem.

Good luck! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

electrical problems are horrific on these cars!

ps. i was soooo worried it was my ecu also. But it wasnt. I doubt its your ecu also.

It says APEXI real big and version 5.08 or something.. I'd have to go look for sure

See the thing is is I have checked for both power and continuity to and from the injector plugs and the ECU. There are no breaks.. I verified that. I'm SO lost.. But I'm headed for the noids tomorrow.

yeah hook up the noids and crank the car over. The wires may have no breaks in them, but if the ECU isnt making a circuit through them, theres your problem. *knock on wood*

sidewinderx7 02-24-2004 08:42 PM

unless you plug the noid lights in and crank it over, you wont know for sure. If they dont pulse you only have a few things that coule be at fault.

So youre getting continuous power to the injectors?!

if you are SURE youre getting power to the injectors then its a ground problem. But without using those noids i dont know how else youre gonna test it by yourself.
