my friend at work has a clogged cat, 01 jeep. what can be done to unclog it short of paying the dealer $350.00 for them to unclog it. how come it's not under warranty??? me i don't have a cat ripped that shitz outz

It may be a NY thing but I thought the emissions system on a car that new are by law covered under warranty(I'm not 100% on this, think I read it a good couple of years ago when my cat was clogged). Seems particularly strange that on such a new car not only would the cat be clogged but that the dealer wouldnt replace it. I wouldnt hack it up untill every option has been exhausted...hehe! :bigok:

I agree with Manny, and I don't think it's just in NY. The dealer needs to fix it. I thought cats were covered by an extended emissions warranty. I think the dealer is looking to put aside a few bucks for Christmas shopping.
