justin,
did you replace the thermosensor yet? remember, i had that problem with my car, erratic idle, no power, loss of poewr under acceleration, and etc.....i read almost all of this, but though that you might know that you will need that for it to run properly...

Ok.. So I'm getting confused a little.. (normal)
The one wire I have broke is the FAN THERMOSWITCH. Yes?
My coolant temp sensor and level sensor are both hooked up. However, the coolant gauge doesn't read temperature and the light is still on (coolants full, and the aftermarket gauge reads 165) WTF? I ohmed out every cable on the harness and they were good. Twice!! Goddamn I'm starting to really hate this car. Never heard of taking working parts out, and putting them back in and they no longer work..
I mean, I could just use the aftermarket gauge, but all the lights in my face are pissing me off. The oil one is on too. This thing's like a fuggin LEMON! lmao!

Ok.. just to clear things up and end the confusion.
The WATER TEMP SENSOR is a GREEN plug and sits HIGHER than the THERMOSWITCH which is a small single spade black plug. The COOLANT LEVEL Switch is the BLACK one on the front of the thermohousing.
The Coolant Temp GAUGE is a single spade connector that is at the BACK of the engine on the SPARK PLUG side that is to the left and a little below the OIL PRESSSURE sensor.. These SINGLE SPADES can get mixed up... since they look alike.
The COOLANT LIGHT will stay on if the GAUGE is INOP...
The OIL LEVEL SENSOR is on the oil pan, Spark plug side and has its own connector and should be easy to spot underneath the car.
Did you install that map i sent you?? it should work very well but you will probably need to change the injector size settings. FCEDIT and the PFC will change all the values to work with whatever size injectors you are using.

Thanks for the info.
The green one above the thermoswitch has 2 wires.. Does one go to the gauge and one go to the ECU? Or is there 2 sensors?
Everything was so simple until **** stopped working...

ok.. heh... 2wire.. one resistance.. one is ground.. both run to ecu.
the guage is only worked by the one on the side of the engine towards the back just single spade resistance measure.. ( we know the stock guage is ****... )

Here is an idea - unplug the idle speed controller aka ISC
I just had my UIM off to replace a FPD (fuel pulsation dampener) and when everything was put back together, my idle was hunting all over the place like the way you described. We unplugged the ISC and the idle returned to "normal" or at least it stopped hunting.
When on the driver's side of the car, look at the throttle body and go back about 3-4 inches and you will see a plug going up at a 45 degree angle. That should be the ISC. Check the service manuals first to get a better idea. Its right near the air temp sensor jammy under the UIM. You can reach it while its on the car if you have thin fingers.
Good luck
