That might be funny, but I've heard of it happening before.

When I was dealing with Pac Performance, a car went in for a new motor again, cause the guy put it up on bricks and stands and did it, but forgot all about it and the thing over heated and POP. Don't know at what RPM's.

 

"If its a reman most likely it has used rotors so the bearings won't need any break in. Drive it semi careful keeping the rpms below 7k for the first couple hundred and the boost below 10psi then change the oil and you should be good to go. When you change the oil dip your finger in the oil and you'll see why some break in is necessary. If the rotors are new you will need full break in: no boost and nothing over 4500 for 500 miles change the oil then light boost and nothing over 6500 for 500 change the oil and your done with break in." -- from fritz flynn on evil fourm ...

 

Okay, I'll ask it a second time. How do you turn off the boost if your car is bone stock? Take off the twins?

I'm obviously still a n00b when it comes to RX7's and turbo's. So the twins don't spool past 3500?

 

boost doesn't hit on a stock motor that runs correctly before 3,200-3500 rpms, then secondaries come in giving it that 10-8-10 boost pattern that your car Should run at.

 

What did mazda say for a break in when the rx7s were new?

I've heard so many damn break in periods its unreal. Currently I am going to 2K miles w/o boost or revs beyond 4k since I put new bearings in my rebuild. I unhooked my w/g arm to keep out of boost, and its driving me nuts waiting to boost.
