What different procedures does everyone use for breaking in a new engine? What types of fluids to use, and how long to keep that engine out of boost and/or under what RPM, etc?
Thanks for the info- |
no boost or more than 4000rpm for 1000miles, then an oil change (and recheck) and its ready to go!
I used:
500 miles no boost nothing above 3500 rpm. oil change. 500 miles gradual pulls all throughout rpm's little to no boost. oil change. Set to go |
How would you be able to turn the boost off if the car is bone stock?
put a rock under the gas pedal

breakin depends on what parts you are using..... whether its used or new housings, and what kind of seals you are using
These are my original, unscathed housings using 2mm Atkins seals. What kind of oil is everyone using for the break in time?
500 miles no boost then lay into it. I figure the seals have pretty much seated themselves by then. Change the oil at 1000k then 2000k there after.
for break in... .can you just put the car on blocks and let it rip?
