hey guys, I hope you can help me with this one. ive got an 87 na thats getting a little old. its got about 200k on it. still original motor. the problem is on warm start up. it will pound out a big cloud of white smoke. once its started its fine. the other thing i noticed is that ive gota top up the coolant level every 3-4 weeks. the car is not running hot, and has never overheated. could the gasket between the rotor housing be burnt or cracked. or could it be somethig simple. i hope im not looking at a new motor. thanks for any help.

it sounds like it's burning coolant, which would mean overhaul time. Fortunately for you the engines are really simple and perfect for a DIY overhaul.

does the white smoke smell/taste sweet?

Can't remember where I saw this, but on one vendor's site a used 20B was being sold for $4500 - a rebuilt 20B cost $6500
