http://www.engineersedge.com/tap_drill_chart.htm

Of Course that info conflicts with the chart in Machinery's handbook. For a 12 x 1.5 thread, the Z drill would be acceptable. My apologies ROB!

I CALL SHENANIGANS ON THREAD ABUSE!!!!!!!!! Unless you like it loose and sloppy!

Standard Drill size for M12 Nominal size and thread diameter is 10.20mm (.4015")(recommended) and 10.40mm[.4094] (Alternate)

Z bit diameter 0.4130"

the Snap On metric tap and die set will give you the drill bit of Z to be used, which I did, and I then tapped it with a 12x1.5 tap, its been on my car for years now

I was going off real world expierence, not internet mumbo jumbo.
