My 86 NA has a kind of weak idle when it's cold. Nothing too terrible that I can't live with it, but I'd like to fix it if possible. Anyhow, someone mentioned something to me about trying to do some grounding work on the car, and seeing if that helps. I was thinking that I might get some 10 guage wire and some connectors then look at some of the posts I've seen here on the subject. Anyhow, what I really want to know is whether anyone thinks this will solve my problem. Also, any advice is much appreciated.

What you really should use is 8 gauge wire. Its kinda hard to tell if this will solve the problem. But the extra grounds wont hurt to have on.

Okay, 8 gauge it is! Thanks for the advice. Hopefully it works out, but I'll make sure to post the results either way.

also you might try setting the tps, and idle mixture screws. we had one at work where it had a "weak" idle and it was a small vacuum leak. it ran fine when we richened it up with the mixture screw, only reason that would change is a vacuum leak.

Since it's worse when it's cold, check the idle screw that rides in the thermo-wax cam.
