Thumbs up

I have an S4 T2 with a suspect turbo on it. It seems to be pooling oil in it. I am looking at my options when it comes to replacing it. If I move up to an S5 turbo, will I need any of the S5 manifolds? Which ones? Is it better to just have mine rebuilt? Or an aftermarket unit?

Thanks.

As far as I know you'll just need the S5 exhaust manifold. But I could be wrong.

Kouki turbo needs the kouki ex. mani. Same goes for the zenki.

If you want an upgraded one, get with BNR Supercars. At least once his site is back up. The results will be good enough to have BS called on you all the time.

With an upgraded stock turbo, you just pay a bit more than a rebuilt one but much less than a whole different turbo. If you get a T04 then you'll need to spend thousands more just to support it. With the upgraded turbo you'll just need to spend, well, less than that.

Should I just use the stock S5 exhaust manifold? Or is there a reasonable aftermarket one that offers better flow?

There are aftermarket exhaust manifolds for both the zenki and kouki turbos that are stock replacements. Anniversary Racing Factory sells some sweet stuff but it's all in Japan. Stock parts will cost much less and you don't have to know Japanese to buy it.
