Will an FC turbo transmission fit in an NA FC? From what I can tell, it's not very doable.

I'm sorry I'm the needy new guy, but I have been looking for the answer for hours. My tranny is toast, and there's a guy who has a refurbished turbo tranny for $300.

Thank you.

It will bolt in for the most part. You will need a long list of TII parts to make it work though. Minimum is clutch slave, flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, t/o bearing, trans mount, and starter. The differential flange is different, so you will need to either modify a TII driveshaft, or get a TII diff and axles as well.

To make a long story short, its interchangable, but as a complete assembly. Or you can do a little custom work to keep your n/a diff/axles.

Ah, thank you!

Now, I have to decide whether it is worth the effort and $ modifying a non-rebuilt, 100,000+ mi. rotary with such a beefy tranny...

Look around, you can usually fine good usable n/a transmissions for around $100.

Yeah, I've got 2 I'd let go for $50/each if someone showed up and took them. Possibly less.

I have looked some, and the "best" deal was a tranny from an 87 with 135,000 mi. on it for $450. Oh, and came with a 90 day warranty. I found that amusing.

Too bad I live 900+ mi. away...

I'll look some more. I can't justify beefing up a tired 7 with a turbo tranny. Thanks again for the info.

I did my TII Trans wasp on my Vert that had 118,000 on it and it made a big difference. I have the stock rear end on mine and the TII to NA diff drive shaft from Mazdatrixs. It is worth it especially if you plan on doing a Turbo engine swap...

Look on the forums for someone closer selling one. Youre looking for shops selling a trans, and thats a guaranteed way to pay too much. You could try to find a junkyard/pick-n-pull near you too. Ive picked up transmissions from places like that for as little as $45.
