My 6th ports don't open at idle, even at 6k. I thought the load on the engine doesn't matter on an s5, only on an s4. If I pump air into the actuators they open smoothly. How can i tell if they are opening when i'm driving and if they're not, what can i do about it. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure if you can know that they are opening or not when driving, but you can rev up the engine and look at the actuators (with the car parked and in neutral!) to see if they open at or above 3800 rpm. If the car does not accelerate more forcefully above 4000 rpm than below, it might indicate a problem with the ports.

One of mine was stuck on my S4 NA engine before I rebuilt it and the top end felt a little flat. Now it feels very nice!

Smear a bunch of grease on the actuators, take it around the block, and see if the grease moved.
