I think I'm about to ditch the cats for the test pipe...does it matter what diameter for this?

And why is out the side so much better? I mean, not "because you go faster," or "because it sounds cool," but the mechanics of it. Is it shorter distance?
If you plan to do a test pipe... get it from the manifold back - and go with single muffler. Sure.. it's gonna be loud without the cats, but hey... :yum: Depending what you like, and what you consider loud anyway.

The pipe should be about a 2" piping, the muffler.. well.. I'm not too sure. I'm getting about 3" muffler.

You might also want to consider the weight of the dual systems, the RB system for instance is very beefy material, which is great, but heavy. I currently have RB header and presilencer, RB Y pipe and RB mufflers... I will probably ditch the Y pipe and go to a single muffler later since I will be putting the car on a diet in the summer. You're probably doing the mods for performance and exhaust note reasons... performance is usually the first priority, it would be pretty lame to lose the power gains in weight additions, so keep an eye on the scale with yer performance mods

lack of Cats barely affects the sound level. well i havnt ever heard one with cats, but it is by no means loud. just sounds like any other sports car exhaust

mufflers and headers have the biggest effects on sound, as well as the gauge of material used for the piping

duals sound like *** IMO, ESPECIALLY with stock mufflers, the exhaust notes are too defined

If you get the racing beat header, will it have a spot on it for the oxygen sensor? Do you guys know of any mufflers that arent VERY loud and hae a low tone? I want to get racing beat header, presiliner where the cat is, keep stock y-pipe, and replaced mufflers with performance ones.

Yes, the RB streetable header has the boss welded on it for the O2 sensor. I really like the sound of the full RB system on my car, but it's a bit expensive.
