Im going to be getting the RacingBeat road race header....Should I run 1 or 2 mufflers and why?his will be on a set up with no cats..and 2 1/1 in exhast..Does one muffler on a FC perfrom better or 2
|
i would keep it seperate all the way back, i think if you wanted that extra 2-3% then a collected single would be better

That's the way to go, don't keep it the stock design even if it's mandrel bent and larger pipe. I'm a fan of the dule exhaust but each roter case has a seprat pipe exiting out the back, maby a h pipe someware in there. I currently have a single muffler works grate!!

So on a road race header sqaure flange you gusy think to just coem out with 2...straight back to to mufflers?Dont join into one?
My road race header on my FB joins into 1 after 15 inches.. |
The most power RB tested was to keep a true dual exhaust from the engine back, separate pipes, presilencers, and mufflers for each port.

i had the RB race headers with a 2 into 1 y pipe with a gutted cat. Kept it single pipe all the way back with 2.5" piping to an Apex N1. I left the cat on there cause the secondary actuator pipe (wutever you call it) was welded into the cat, and my secondaries worked perfect...
it gave me some REALLY nice power. after that i literally never lost to any other N/A. I raced a few 89-91's and spanked em all, i raced one 88 N/A carbbed that was supposedly ported too....spanked his ass....i liked that car alot. got beat by juice or boost, but wut u expect for an N/A...=) |
if its going to be street driven at all id go with the 2 into 1.. should mix the exhaust beats and give a more pleasing tone... might be a drop more restrictive though
|
Yuca..you need to buy your car back..
|
How about 2 coming out of the Road race header...then into one...then back out into 2 to go on each side of the back of the FC?
