So the single xr-1 setup for my t2 probably wouldnt eb a good idea? Nuts... I need something cheap to replace my stock catback but i hate loud exhausts.

XR1's are racing mufflers, and rightly so. They make the car louder below 4k, but a lot quieter above. Quite useless on a street car.



Ill start a new thread on muffler reviews/recommendations.

Jimmi325i on the evil forum tried using the Moreso spiralflow muffler as a presilecer between an RB collected header and some catback that I can't remember. The spiralflow was toast after a couple weeks, according to him. Yours should do better due to being a pair in parallel as opposed to a single one directly after the header, plus you have another muffler ahead of them. I'd like to know how it all holds up for you. I might attempt a custom catback one of these days and I'd like to use the spiralflow mufflers before the silencers.



Have you heard of Car Chemistry baffle inserts for welding in the header collector? Wozzom on the other forum put one in his collected header and didn't get a power loss, but it quieted down his ported engine a bit. He's dynoing in the 170 rwhp range, I think. I'm about to order mine to weld inside my header before ditching the stock exhaust manifold.

I have. The design looked rather restrictive to me. Like I said, my engine is EXTREMELY sensative to exhaust backpressure. When I had the single 3", power would fall off at 5500 in 4th. The low end suffered a lot also. I was really between a rock and a hard place trying to quiet this engine down, but I did the best I could, and I couldnt be happier with the results.



I remember Jimmys results, and I was rather hesitant. But DAMN if those mufflers dont make a huge difference in the sound.



Know anyone who wants to buy my SP engine?

the key with some of those mufflers is the hangers, our race car puts stress on the muffler and it cracks, the stock ones dont do that. we're running a paul yawish header with a single 3" chambered muffler and a 3" dynomax out back, its ok for a race car its almost streetable

I only put hangers on the pipe, so Im ok there. I have had a hanger tear through the pipe though. But I didnt to that weld, that was a mufflershop exhaust.

we dont have enough hangers, one on the tranny and one waaay back on the muffler isnt enough for the magnaflow, although just the 3" pipe was ok
