Heres the pics of my last exhaust. Starting at the engine side and moving backwards, the mufflers are an 18" long dynomax race bullet muffler, 2 moroso spiral flow mufflers, and 2 magnaflow 6" round polished SS mufflers. All mufflers are 3" in/out, the the pipe is single 3" to dual 3".

The sound is unbelievable. This exhaust is so quiet(from inside the car, give me a few days to get a better idea how it is outside the car) compared to every other exhaust Ive had. I havent had a quieter exhaust since I had a stock engine and true duals with stock type mufflers. That same exhaust was much louder on this engine. Inside the car, the volume level at WOT is similar to an S2000, but if anythign, slightly louder. The tone is smooth and pretty deep, and not the slightest hint of the 2 stroke raspiness rotaries are famous for.

I had this exhaust, minus the moroso mufflers in for about 3 weeks. It was incredibly loud, but the hp gains were amazing over my last single 3" exhaust. My engine has a lot of overlap, and is therfore very sensative to exhaust backpressure. I lost almost no power with the addition of the moroso mufflers, and now its the quietest my car has been in years.

Heres a pic of it before I put it on the car.

And now installed. If anyoen is wondering, I did cut the bumper to I could put the tips higher. Ive had problems dragging my exhaust over speed bumps and driveways with my car being so low, so I wanted these mufflers up as high as possible. Wouldnt want to scratch those beautiful SS cans...

with all those mufflers it better be quiet!

Did the exaust grow into its current form in attempts to quiet the

engine or was this planned?

This was my original plan, but when it came down to actually doing it, its not how it happened. At first, I only had the 2 magnaflows. I dont even know why they call those mufflers, it probably would have been quieter dumping off the headers... Then I added the 18" dynomax muffler, a lot better sounding, but still louder than hell. The moroso's took care of the loudness.

The dual 3" was done specifically for the moroso, since their welds dont like rotaries. I had one in my single exhaust. It did fine, until the XR1 that was before it blew, and I replaced it with a pipe. The moroso lasted a week beign the first muffler in line before I blew one of the baffles out. But Im hoping that with the dual 3", that for one, there is enough cross section area to spread the exhaust pulse out, as well as the heat, and the muffler will last. Also, dual 3" on a n/a sidesteps the restriction of their design.

If it takes more mufflers than my car has wheels to keep this engine quiet without chocking power, then so be it... Im very happy with it.

being the RB presilencer was useless

You know XR1's actually make the car louder below 4k rpm, right?

I had an XR1 before. At first it was the only muffler. I parked my car for a few days so i wouldnt go deaf while I waited for another muffler tp add to my exhaust came in the mail. Then when I blew it, and replaced the XR1 with a pipe, my exhaust was actually quieter below 4k rpm.

I kinda wish they would rot out so I can justify swapping them

I put magnaflows on my jeep, they are pretty loud even

with 14" oval mufflers

The quietest single straight through muffler Ive seen is the dynomax race. If only they had polished SS cans...
