I am considering buying a second generation rx-7 1987 model and i would appreciate if anyone could tell me how much petrol does this car take per 100kms (turbo model). I have heard that it drinks alot.

This model is very old and i can not import a later model because of import restrictions. Could you also tell me how much problems this car will give providing it has gone about 80,000kms. Do rotary engines give more problems than piston ones???

Thank U

I think the engine should last just fine as long as it is maintained well, i.e. oil and coolant are always full etc. Rotaries do not get great gas mileage, but it nots bad. I would say just as a ball park figure you would get around 17 miles to the gallon. This is just a guess though and many variables play into gas consumption. I am just curious where you are from and where this car is being imported? Good luck B)

Sounds like my GXL, it's been so long since I drove it I'm starting to forget what it's like to drag gears out to 8k. However, it's all for the better. Waiting on parts from mazdatrix right now, S5 turbo rotor housings, S5 turbo intermediate housing, S5 NA end housings, all new, and street ported by mazdatrix. Also got the S5 NA rotors/counterweights, and hardened stationary gears. Combined with my RB headers/presilencer/system, HKS intake, and S5 intake manifold (VDI), this is going to be one hell of an NA An E6K might be getting ordered in the near future too.

yum.
