if you're determined to make the car fast, get the 4.3 rear end and a RB header and presilencer (or the compatible cat from mazdatrix) thats pertty much all your money right there. Cut out the top of your airbox or visit home depot motorsports to do something about the intake end. Realize once you start going faster (and driving like an ass more often as a result) you will need a clutch soon, wear your trans more, and stress your motor more. You may be checking the limit on your credit card a few months after the loan https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png A lightweight flywheel really frees up the rev's and makes driving alot more fun too, short throw shifter is also a nice addition.

I have a modified air box sitting in the garage with a ~20k mile K&N drop-in filter sitting in it, it was better than the stock air box but I definately felt loss of power in high rpm's > 90mph, but 1st-3rd > 6k you could really feel the difference, once the aux ports opened the tone changed completely and the motor would rocket to 8k, this didnt really happen with the stock airbox. However, I had many other mods done so your mileage may vary. Email me if you wanna buy the airbox+filter, i'll probably throw it out otherwise. This way you would still have your stock air box in case you don't like the results. (it's kindof loud) ... BTW, I believe the loss of power > 90mph was due to losing the mild ram-air effect the stock setup had at those speeds....

How much do the pineapple sleeves help? I was considering buying those sleeves but now I'm thiking about just pulling out the sleeves and using jb-weld in the port itself to smooth out the flow and eliminate the sleevs and actuators altogether (and remove the obstruction from the aux port runner caused by the actuator linkage) this seemed like it would improve the flow characteristics of the aux ports more than just the sleeves. Anyone have any experience with this?
