Ok, begin with a full exhaust: Headers, presilencer and catback +30HP(with intake you already have) costs anywhere from $700 to $1200

Or you can go ahead and get a lightweight flywheel...no HP gain, but makes car accelerate faster. NOS kit possibly...good wheels & tires, the possibilites are endless, but unfortunately, 1500 isnt enough to gain all THAT much...but its a nice start....

take out the personal loan, and sell the GXL, then buy a TurboII.

Trust me on this one, I have a GXL and have spent > $1500 on mods, TurboII is definately the best route if you want to go fast w/budget, although the GXL has been quite reliable for me... unlike .. some peoples coughcoughvoskocoughcough TurboII's

Streetport will cost more then 1500...

Go w/ the exhaust, and if you have any $$ left look for a lightweight flywheel...

A lightweight flywheel is very streetable...just dont go nuts, a nice 12lbs flywheel is a good choice....
