ok.. so basically here's my story.. i have an 89 gxl with a blown motor.. and a running 88SE that has electrical and body issues. So I'm putting the s4 block and trans into the s5 body. I've gotten most of it done. swapped the front plate.. and am using the s5 intake. also have the transmission mount figured out. I removed the egr and emissions since i don't have to worry bout that and the 5th/6th ports weren't really working. I've got most of the vacuum figured out as well.. i think. haha. now i'm looking for a coolant diagram for a non turbo.. all i can find is for the turbo. somethings i just can't remember where they go. I'll post up some pics a little later. I also want to figure out if I can keep my VDI working without the smog pump, or the rest of the rats nest. i'll be sure to take some pics here shortly when i head back over there.. and ill post em up tonight. thanks for any help.

 

wow umm id say honestly you should just rebuild the s5 due to its a higher compression motor and hp i dont wanna think about the mess of wiring you are doing for this to work but as far as the coolant **** check the fsm which is on this site

 

not any wiring.. i'm just using the s4 keg with the s5 intakes and exhuast. on the s5 body. don't have enough money or know how to rebuild the s5.. i just needed something to get by for now. the FSM has coolant routing.. for turbo. not for nonturbo. i think i got most of it figured out now.. but just wanted double check.. ya know.

 

they should have non turbo and your car might freak on you since the omp is mechanical on s4 and electronic on s5 unless you get it working right

 

i can't seem to find the non turbo diagram for coolant routing. and i swapped the front plates.. and put the s5 omp on there. i think i finally have jsut about everything figured out.. just a couple more odd vacuum spots to figure out.. and wiring of the 5spd ..
