i have a N/A 1987 gxl and want to install a turbo. and no, i dont want to sell it and buy a turbo 2 because my rx7 is in great shape. what parts do i need? can i just swap a manifold, intercooler, and ECU out of a turbo 2? i dont want the turbo because i am going to instal a new one, like a garret or a greddy. will i be okay with the stock injectors and fuel pump? someone let me know, or someone who has alreday done this. thanks

no, it wont work..tranny and rearend will shatter around 200hp. they have a faq about the feasibility.. and yes, it would be easier to find a t2. I'm looking for one myself

Your setup would have to be all aftermarket. standalone ecu, bigger fuel system, ect. If you were to use stock turbo you could get by with stock stuff but even that would be iffy at a certian point. What size turbo are you planning to use? The safe boost limit is 6 psi on a turbo'd na. Thats all the detail i will go into. For more info id suggest you go to the FAQ section and look around this question gets asked alot.

I wouldn't go that far.. The stock N/A drivetrain doesn't like anything much above stock numbers, but nothing would shatter around 200hp.. Not right away at least..

As for TII conversion, you need alot more than you think (as stated above).
