I searched for previous topics but didn't come up with anything similar to my problem.

I have a 87 convertible. It has problems starting and doesn't idle properly....but only when hot. When it's cold it starts right up and idles how it should be when it's cold. After about 30 min to an hour of driving it is when it seems to cause problems. I use it as a daily driver, delievering pizza, so I'm constantly stopping and starting. It only started doing this two days ago.

When it starts it will crank, sometimes turn over and die right away. To keep it running I have to apply gas to get the RPM's to go up and keep it there for a second. When it's idling it sometimes idles normally around 1,000; even then it bobs up and down. Not so much up; but it's alway fluctuating, sometimes I think it might die at a red light, but it hasn't yet. I've seen it go below 300 more then once. Once I'm driving and above 2,000 it runs just fine as far as I can tell.

It's also running a little warm, just under the half way on the temerature gauge at most. I recently replaced the water pump and the radiator; water pump about a month ago and radiator two weeks. I currently do not have the termastat in; cause I was checking for leaks/problems (none currently) and just haven't gotten around to putting in the new one.

Any thing anybody could think of that might be causing these problems? I really have little knowledge on RX7's and I live in Arkansas, and know of no place that works on them; so any thing that goes wrong with it I generally have to do.

Thanks in advance.
