How to tell if I have a TII drivetrain?
I was wondering how I can tell if I have a Turbo drivetrian. I just bought the car about 3 weeks ago. The guy I bought it off of said it had a TII drivetrian, everything but the motor/harness/ecu. I was wondering if there are any engravings or marks to let me know if its true. I haven't got it on the lift yet. I'll be RTV'ing the oil pan while its up their. Let me know please.
thanks-

The turbo tranny has what it looks like "drain pan" (a very thin one)
Scroll the the two tranny pics, and you can see this thin drain pan:

ok, i was more interested in the rear end. my friends 88 gxl had LSD tag on the pumpkin. I still need to get under it to check everything. Winter sucks, especialy if you dont have a garage.
I thought that the turbo II tranny wont work with a N/A engine because.... The turbo II tranny has 23 splines when the N/A tranny has 22 splines.... unless they rebuilt the engine and put a turbo E-shaft in it..
As for the rear end.. If you don't wanna get under the car to check, Can't ya just do a burn out to see if it has a LSD????

The splines are in the center of the clutch disc, not the rear of the e-shaft. You have to use the larger diameter clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel with the T2 trans.
NA and T2 e-shafts are identical, they have the same part number.

thank you very much guys. I did a burn out a couple days ago, and it spun both fairly easily for an N/A. I was wondering what the F was going on. lol.
