i would hope there is lift to get that impact GUN under

I removed mine with a impact gun from sears $85, 2 1/8 socket 3/4 drive, 3/4 to 1/2 adapter, 10 gallon aircompressor, and dead blow hammer. took a while waiting on the compressor. Once the bolt is loose leave it on but backed off a couple of threads. start swinging away with the dead blow around the flywheel, and one day like majic it pops loose. that is why it is important to have the nut on, saves your feet, floor and fly wheel teeth. good luck.

when my friend and I took it off, we tried with the adapter first (1/2" drive wrench->1/2" to 3/4" converter->2 1/8" socket), but we broke the driver off of the wrench, and it was a bitch to get the broken driver out of the converter. I couldn't believe it! We broke the mechanism in 2 other wrenches that day, but the craftsman wrench actually broke its driver. We had to borrow a 3/4" breaker bar and add a 4' cheater bar to get that thing off. It was pretty easy to get the actual flywheel off though.

when you go and put your new flywhele back on, do u need to do anything special to get the flywheel to sit correct on it's tappered seat?
