Just wondering if anyone used block weld to temporarily fix their coolant seals?...

like the directions say, do they ever take the block weld stuff out after they have let it idle'd for 30 or so minutes?

do i just leave that stuff in there until i rebuild?????

please shed some knowledge if you've been through it, and is that the best way to do it? cause im debating if im suppose to let that stuff sit in there the whole time, or drain it out after a few days? or at all?...

thanks guys!

ive heard of some people using for very short time periods. But, the **** gets into everything, clogs the radiator passages, BAC valve, etc. Its a very poor band-aid type fix. YOur better off biting the bullet and rebuilding it

I would use the irontite ceramic sealer. It works great. I put two bottles in my FC at 185K and got another 15 k out of her before I had th rebuild her. Yes, it makes a mess out of the motor's coolant passages, but it can be easily cleaned up.

Bottles run $20. 15,000 more miles out of your engine for $20 is a good deal.

I used it in my previous NA.

Spotting and fixing the problem early is critical.

It held for over a year, and was still holding when I sold it.

I used bars after the process of running degreaser through the system. It held for 3 hours of track time.

i recomend just rebuilding. i'd oly use block weld if i was stranded far from home and needed to get the car driveable, on a side note where are you from?

im curious because i thought i was the only rx7 owner that was a MF DOOM fan. most ppl here (even the hip hop heads) have never heard of Subroc AKA MF DOOM AKA madvillan AKA Viktor Vaughn.

then again you are prabably just a fan of the cartoon and have no idea who i'm talking about... hers some of his work

Didn't work for me, of course my issue was a bit more serious..

I ran into clogged passages as cymfc3s stated, really fucked my **** up. Not worth my time.

It's up to you if you want to risk it.
