No it hasn't done it from day one. The tranny was a little shitty, so I figured that was the issue. It started doing it every now and then, then it went to doing all the tiem in any gear under load. It does it exactly like it di with the old tranny, so I have new clutch, pilot and release bearing and new tranny. I looked at the driveline, but of course could feel it so much in the gear shifter I assumed that was the culpret. The only things I can think of would be tranny mount, u-joints or rear end. What did your u-joints sound like? Could you feel it in the gear shifter?

That car was a reverse manual valve body. I felt it more as a vibration in the seat of
the pants.
I changed axles because I had a pair of spares and basically went nuts because I had new U-joints in
the car for a few weeks before that.
I took the driveshaft out and there was the tiniest little crack in the U-joint, changed it out and
never had the problem again, the car was stolen on me but that was another story.

i have seen the mazda u joints only seize up in one joint and one direction before. or maybe you have a bad motor mount and the whole thing moves around enough that the driveshaft hits something? is it a rotation? or like a banging? maybe its the exhaust hitting something?

Yea I just need to have 2 of the vehicles I own on the road. The power steering is fucked on the 84 and the TPS is fucked as well. The 88 has this issue, I am about 2 minutes from buyign the wife a new car cause I don't need the ******* headaches right now, that would be one less vehicle to deal with. LOL
