damn it... anyhow... the machine shop resurfaced the flywheel correctly. They measured the step before the process... and resurfaced the flywheel to the same step size.



But the thickness may not be the same... ****.

talking to some mechanic friends who don't work on rx7s... they say for hydraulic clutches, resurfacing a flywheel may take out too much material and u will need shims to accomedate for the loss of thickness.

you dont need to shim it thats horsepucky.

let's hope so... frig i should just try to do my clutch myself.

here is another thought.



If i take my resurfaced flywheel, take my clutch and sandwich the clutch disc with the flywheel and pressure plate...



bolt sandwich together, if the fingers on the pressure plate are flat then the thickness of the flywheel should be fine right?



****.... now i'm thinking... i need to do this with an engine right?
