when I put the motor in I cleaned up the exhaust surface with a wire brush ceaned up the gasket that the metal ring seemed to be in good condition and put it on. but to my surprise when I crank the engine on I GET FUMES IN THE BAY WHY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! new gasket guys? shiny side to the motor right?

 

Might be grease and fingerprints burning off the exhaust. See if it clears up after a few minutes.

 

well the fumes burn the eyes and you can feel the heat and see the idiy bitty of smoke that comes out. but then again the pipe right before the converter is all rusted out.
