If my motor requires to many new parts to rebuild I may swith toan fd motor.

do they make more power and how hard is the swap. does any drive line need to be changed. Just thinking out loud. I checked the engine swap section didn't look like it gtets much traffic.

yes the fd motor makes more power but a well built fc t2 motor can make very good power aswell.

as far as the swap goes i highly recomend a full t2 drive line with the fd or t2 motor. and you will need new motor mounts ot mount the fd to the fc chassis.

then theres computer well i recomend a stand alone.

The saying goes. If you have to ask, it costs too much. FD swap is $$$$. Look at Jims5543 RX-7. He has spent alot. It seems that the hot thing is to swap in a 13b-RE. I am guessing because of the engine mounts on the block??

i did the 13bre swap in my car and no the mounts do not just mount to the block like a t2 , the re mounts like the fd! and its a horse a piece with any swap it all coast money , just how much do anyone of us want to spend.

now i went from the 89 gxl to jdm t2 swap with wolf 3d 3.0 and now im swaping to the cosmo 13b re with a wolf 4.0.

hey hope over to the 20b forum..... and think about getting a 3 rotor instaed of a 13b-rew.....

I priced it out and I can put one in a fc for about 7000-8000 not 20,000 like they say.

If you can do all the fabrication yourself you can pull off a 20B swap for around $10k. Theres a million little things that will nickel and dime you to death with the swap.
