good to hear you guys like those silverstars so much. im gonna do my main bulbs with those, and then do the fogs bc they make the silver stars in the plain bulbs. that way theyll all be even

haha yep, i did a bit more reading and it looks like i'm going to go with a different housing liek you said. my question now is if i buy the hella conversion setup from phins, will it support an h4 bulb?

i believe the hella conversion includes the H4 bulbs, i could be wrong. But they'll be regular, run of the mill H4's i figure, nothing super brite. you could try running those, itll still be an improvement but you might be able to get even brighter bulbs for better visibility.

they come with the same wattage blubs as stock, then you have to find/buy the 80/130's which can be tricky

I actually just found out a bit more info about the Hella housings.

The US-Spec housings are called "vision plus" and are DOT legal. Their model number is 72207.

Hella also makes an E-spec housing, model number 72206. The advantage of the E-spec housings is that they a bit brighter and throw the light a bit further down the road. Obviously, they are not DOT legal. Also, there is a sophisticated adjusting proceedure for e-spec lights, but I dont have the link right now.

the e code lights have a sharp cutoff on the low beams, they light "lower" than the stockers, but the high beams are great

all the hella ones do, and i assume so do the others

The hellas take the 9003, I sell them, not sure if you can stick an h4 in there in not. i will say be careful running the high wattage bulbs I ran 120's in my Jeep and melted the harness, had to rebuild the bitch with my soldering iron LOL

I am running 85's on the high beams in my AE they are pretty nice.

BigTurbo74 12-19-2004 01:22 AM

yeah, i would love to buy that coversion from phins but i would prefer a h4 bulb. if someone has experience with this chime in please.

I know the http://eurolights.com take the h4 bulb, dunno how the quality is compared to the namebrands like hella, but might be worth a look into.

I just bought bulbs and housings at Propulshun, on University. I've only had the best customer service there. I'll let you know how it goes--the bulbs don't look like a dual fillament, so I am confused about the high beam factor.
