my stock 86'ers are junk. i'm getting ready for a long road trip and i'm looking for something that can give me more visibility as well as update looks, without adding any rice factor. i've been lookin in the nopistons store at the products and don't know much about the differences. like i said, i would like some brighter lights with possibly a better beam pattern and wouldn't mind a classy blue tint like you see on most high end cars, but i would like them to be more functional than cosmetic. lemme know your opinions. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

i have the h4 80/130w bulbs in mine, the low beams are about the same but the high beams are nice. fc actually has decent lighting stock, its the fb and fd that need help

I am in the process of making a sleek kit. Pretty much done with it, only low beam tho but i could offer it with an ultra bright bulb. DOT legal, low beam only however, cant much fit another in the housing yet.

the key making sure to align the light properly... else no matter how much you have spent it's all worthless. THe sylvania silverstars are pretty good for the money.

As you probably know they sell the Hella H4 conversion in the shop--I'm in the market, also.

I've been doing some research lately on H4 conversions..here are the most popular choises:
Hella conversion, Pilot Motorsports, Raybrig, Cibie allthese with a good H4 bulb. The Pilots are the least expensive and available at an Autozone, Pepboys type of place. The Hellas are the most popular and are weel priced. Phins has them in the store for the best price over the net that I caould find. The Raybrigs and Cibies are the best housings, but are also pricey. If your tempted to buy the cheap ebay conversions, the advice on the forums is not to. They are poor quality (duh) and the interior chrome reflective material ends up peeling off prematurely. Alos, they may be illegal as the lenses are usually clear, and dont have a bulb cap. good luck. -a |

I actually just found out a bit more info about the Hella housings.
The US-Spec housings are called "vision plus" and are DOT legal. Their model number is 72207. Hella also makes an E-spec housing, model number 72206. The advantage of the E-spec housings is that they a bit brighter and throw the light a bit further down the road. Obviously, they are not DOT legal. Also, there is a sophisticated adjusting proceedure for e-spec lights, but I dont have the link right now. -a |
Okay, I'm kinda post whoring here....but IPF also makes housings for the conversion. However, I cant find much info on them.
