try using some injector cleaner...also, run the codes and see if anything comes up...it takes 30 seconds to check them. a tutorial at www.1300cc.com

also, i sort of had a similar problem like yours although mine would hit a wall at 7500. it would almost seem like my n/a would lean out or get too rich at that point. did it since the day i got it with a fresh rebuild.............until..........one day i got bumped in the rear by a mustang while i was sitting at a light...no damage at all, but it kind of shook the car. so after i got his insurance info i took off...and was pissed...so i floored it and redlined it. and whadda ya know?..........it hit 8500rpm and kept pulling!!!!!!!!!!! i was like HOLY ****! this it what its SUPPOSED to be like! it was so noticeably faster than it ever had been...

this lasted for about 2 months and then it slowly reverted back to its 7500 wall...and it still does this now. i dunno if the hit jarred something on the fuel pump...or knocked the filter on the fuel pump around...still can't figured it out...but i want it to go back to what it was!!!!!!!!!!!! haha
for yours i would say its a wiring or the mustang knocked some stuff off the fuel filter in the tank

that is the VDI solenoid valve closing up...30 and 33...that is why you are lacking high rpm power...

a 12 year old fuel pump could be it too!

apex13b wows us with his infinite wisdom yet again.

30 Solenoid valve - split air bypass

33 Solenoid valve - port air bypass

these are not related to the vdi, it's emissions related, may be related to your power issues but maybe not, check out the service manual on checking these solenoids.

Like I like to say, if you have something to say, go ahead. You may not like the results, but hey, freedom is great.
