I just pulled the front hubs, and complete rear trans axle from a 88 gxl. Sixteen bolts, brake lines and emergency brake cables for the rear assembly. About a hour to do the job, easy.

don't disconnect both axles at once or else u'll screw your rear end, do one at a time unless u dont' care about the car your takin it from, but ya if you do care don't cuz you'll have to get your rear end re-setup

I don't have the car I pulled mine from, I just bought the rotor/hub/brake assembly from a guy...I'll figure it out one way or the other.

I am actually about to do my 5 lug swap in about a week. My rotors, calipers, and hubs are all together in one piece. I'm just going to detach the 3 (I think) mounting bolts holding it all on, and swap them like that. The only part I'm worried about is the rear hubs, but that's just because I haven't read up on how to remove them yet. I'll be borrowing an impact drill and air compressor for the job, as suggested by fellow foruminians.

Anyone see any problem with that plan? Will I need to do anything with bearings, or the grease in them? Should I get the calipers rebuilt, or do they normally stay good? Should I get the rotors turned? The seller said they had been recently turned, but now they're covered with rust.
don't bother getting someone to rebuild the calipers for you..

just take them appart... best to use a nice air copmpressor... but they should come out with a fairly small one too

then just inspect and replace any parts you need

did mine a couple of weeks ago it took a bit but got the job done nicely.. have all the hubs and brakes assembled just need to do the conversion
