Brake Lines for 5lug Swap?
Hey all when it comes to getting the parts for a 4 to 5 lug swap I know that I need the hubs, rotors, calipers, booster, and prop valve from the 5 lug car. Now when it comes to the brake lines, do I just need to get SS brake lines (and if so 5 lug of 4 lug ones?) or do I need to get all of the hard lines from the 5 lug car? Just want to make sure I get all the right parts
My prefered solution is to use the single piston caliper brake lines, as it eliminates one joint and you don't have to worry about that hard line. It also makes brake work easier, since there's more flexibility in moving the caliper about.
The FSM doesn't list any differences in the proportioning valves, so don't bother with that, and the MC and booster are really optional items, you can skip them. The MC is acutally listed as the same size in the S4's, the difference being that the booster is 1" bigger on the non-4 lug cars.
