88 GXL I had had sealed MICRO style switches on the door handle itself. Easiest way to acsses is remove the outside handle from the door.
The car sat for 3yrs in a garage before I bought it and it seems that the more I use the car the more things actually get better. I think constantly locking and unlocking the car is cleaning the oxidation from the door switch contacts. My power locks are working now too.

95% of the electronics in FCs start working again once you jiggle them around for a little bit

So true. When I got my car my idiot lights were going crazy, my clock never worked, etc, etc., but as soon as I started messing with the centre console everything came back to life.

I searched and searched and couldn't find any answers. My haynes book says the alarm system box should be under the glove box, but it isn't there.
My alarm works half the time and is annoying and I would like to just remove it and be done with it. Where is the alarm box located?
