Yeah, here's how you can mount you intercooler and rad in order to get optimal cooling perfomance, it's a lot of work, but it works out, race cars use this design to.. you need to make some holes in your hood, but when you do it right, it will even be stylish!

We looked at it like a bunch of monkeys. Scratched our heads. Then hit the top part of the E-shaft with a brass head hammer lightly. With a small prybar (some towls to prevent scratching/gouging) against the lobe to pop/slide off and with two mild whacks it came off. I'll upload a pic.
