i still have yet to see a decent running mike-rotech car

What do the Microtech units lack..could it be improper tuning or are they just not as accurate or fast as some others?
seems to be improper tuning, the unit looks like its decent

They are definately not a sophisticated as some of the others, but then they are cheaper and easier to set up than most of the others too. They can be made to run very well, but my experience this is not done in one dyno session. Any ECU can do WOT, it's the light throttle settings that sort the men fron the toys. This is an area where the 16 & 32-bit ECUs have an advantage, and the Microtech takes some work.....on the street with the bum dyno!

I fiddled with small things for weeks after I got mine going because I was not prepared to accept poor light throttle behavior. I do not doubt some others can be better, but at a price. I would have Motec if I could justify it
yeah theres one mike-rotech guy we see every sevenstock and his car takes forever to start and basically runs under full throttle and enough to get back on the trailer.

You base your dislike for the Microtech for one guy that has a poor running car?
i dont hate the mike-rotech at all, what i dislike is that everyone says how great they are when every mike-rotech car ive seen is the same. they usually only run at full throttle. the other thing i dislike is how all of a sudden someone figured out theres no dealer in the us and then its the best thing since sliced bread?

in my case i have haltech support down the street, so the choice is easy, cause really if you can tune a haltech you can tune a mike-rotech, or a carb or an sds or a motec

Come visit us here in West OZ! There ain't a single user here that will tell you Microtech is the greatest thing.........just a value for money budget unit.

Some of the Microtech issues come from having a preloaded base program that can be driven on, so builders are tempted to have a go and not consult an expert. My opinion!

Any ECU is only as good as the people tuning them!

The only people I see pushing microtechs are the ones taking orders for them, everyone else in this thread supporting microtechs' competitors don't take orders for any ECU's as far as I know. So their opinions are far more valuable to me.

Fair point pengaru, but a couple of points in return:

Personally I'm not interested in selling you guys anything.

I don't like to see a product getting an undeserved bad rep when I know exactly what it capable of. My point on this forum is that we have a big installed base of well set up Microtechs here and any help I can give to rotor heads anywhere is gladly (& freely!) given!

A lot of aftermarket ECUs are Australian or NZ product anyway!
