What do the Microtech units lack..could it be improper tuning or are they just not as accurate or fast as some others?
i still have yet to see a decent running mike-rotech car

They are definately not a sophisticated as some of the others, but then they are cheaper and easier to set up than most of the others too. They can be made to run very well, but my experience this is not done in one dyno session. Any ECU can do WOT, it's the light throttle settings that sort the men fron the toys. This is an area where the 16 & 32-bit ECUs have an advantage, and the Microtech takes some work.....on the street with the bum dyno!
I fiddled with small things for weeks after I got mine going because I was not prepared to accept poor light throttle behavior. I do not doubt some others can be better, but at a price. I would have Motec if I could justify it [/quote]
yeah theres one mike-rotech guy we see every sevenstock and his car takes forever to start and basically runs under full throttle and enough to get back on the trailer.

And how bad an ad for Microtech is that?
They are easy to get to a tolerable, easy to live with level.
The after sales support is almost nonexistant from what I have heard here on nopistons and elsewhere. Shame, cos they really are a good value unit.
There is a large Microtech-on-rotary customer base here in WA, and one of the oldest and most respected rotary workshops in the country (state dealership for Microtech), the owners are good mates of mine.
Perhaps I should offer a Microtech Q&A forum to you nopistons lads?

Was talking to the boys today.
On the ECU front if youse didn't know chipset in the LT series is quite a bit superior to the MT. MT is upgradable to LT too.
Vosko if ya like send me your numbers & we can compare them with what the boys are using here. Got everything in the trusty Excel spreadsheet!
Missed out on a 45K kms 20B Cosmo front clip for $3600 AUD by ONE DAY.......dammit!

i am not impressed with my microtech yet. i like my E6K in my FD alot better
You would feel better about the ECU if you had the chance to install it rather than trying to fix some morons poor attempt at the installation. Contact me if you should need any help, I'll do what I can to help you. I'm on all of the other forums under the same SN.

You base your dislike for the Microtech for one guy that has a poor running car?

i have used the software back to back. haltech is way easier to maneuver the software for the laptop basically replaces the handset ? i have also used a powerFC. haltech and PFC are much more succinct.... i will give more opinions once the car is running the way its supposed to.... its cold outside now so i have lost the motivation to work on it lol
