I just have a quick general question. If I have the car (87 GTU) how much would it cost to completely swap a 20b into it? thanks

Depends on how fancy you want to go. I could be done for under 10 grand if you went with all stock components (ie; stock twins, exhaust manifold, and ecu) and if you did all of the plumbing yourself it could save you a lot of money. If you go all out there is no telling how much you'll spend, could be over 100K.

Well...I'm doing one now but I got CJM Motorsports to do it for me. Just for the engine (BNR rebuilt sotck twins and aftermarket cooling systems), I have spent about 8 grand. Labor's not included yet and they are taking the whole car apart (I'm installing Tein FLEX coilvers with EDFC and even installed a 10 point roll cage in it). So if you just want to ask about the engine, it can be done for between 10 and 20 grand. If you are doing things yourself, it may well be below 10 grand. But if you are crazy as me and many others out there, it'll cost.

yeah it really does depend on what you're doing. a buddy of mine scored a complete 20b for $2k and he's just dropping that into a convertable. its gonna be a stock ecu/turbos/etc but he's gonna be around 4k to do the whole swap. its meant to be cooler than it is fast
