Trying to figure out what I want to do, and was wondering if anyone knows what all needs to be done. Obviously I'll need engine mounts, I should probably upgrade the tranny (T2 or what?), I'll also prolly need to upgrade the rear end (T2 most likely). Anything else, plus cost of all this stuff?

Thanks,

Jeremy

X to the rescue. There REW will bolt in if you modify the motor before dropping it in using the stock mounts even. You'll need the First gen front cover(preferably a 13b SE cover as it has a spot for the turbo return line)the first gen oil pan, pick-up and dipstick. Then it will bolt in.As for the tranny you should use the Series 4(87-88) Turbo II tranny. It will bolt up if you slot the tranny mount holes. On the REW motor the front cover won't bolt fully because one bolt hole is off but its still safe to leave it and drop it in missing the one bolt off.Heres a pic of that swap.I'm doing a 13BT myself. You looking at prolly about $3000-$5000 after engine managment and stuff.Don't for if your first gen is carbed to get the SE EFI fuel pump as well or there won't be enough fuel for the motor to run. Enjoy the pic.

That was very helpful. Do you know of anybody that has a diary of this swap online? or links to info about it? Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeremy
