Is there any crash data for the Ultima? I know it has not been crash tested in the us. Did they do any in house testing, or testing for other countries? I've seen a bunch of body off pics of a blue GTR being built up. The frame looks pretty tough, but does it colapse in a controlled manner (as opposed to steel pipe ripping trough the passanger compartment). I feel like party pooper bringing this up, but to me it is important to know the car well designed in this respect to feel comfortable pushing it to the limit. Also the stupidity of other drivers must be considered as well.

Otherwise, assuming the cooling issues can be resolved I think it would be a great alternative to building up a 3 rotor FD. The cost is not much different, and you get a brand new chassis, with all the good stuff attached to it; porsche transaxle(no more syncro problems), AP brakes, custom 3 peice wheels. I believe you can even get solid suspension joints as an option. All this in a car that is much lighter, wind tunnel tested over 200, and looks exotic.

I have never seen any crash data on the car. The UK, SVA tests are pretty strict so I wonder if they make the factory crash a few. Here are a few pictures of a guy how crashed his 1 week after building it. I believe he lost control, crossed the centerline and hit an oncoming car. Both passengers lived with non-life threatening injuries.

The factory is very helpful, I am sure if you asked them about crash testing they would provide you with any info they have.

The 20b will definitely be considered. I really depends on how much modification to the frame will be necessary. The heat issue is my second bigest concern.

Cost wise the ultima is probably a little more than a 3-rotor rx7. Best I can figure a bar minimum ultima will run about 55K. I am hoping to build mine for around 65K. I think if you started with a blown 3rd gen you could build up a 3 rotor for less. But you are right, building an ultima your are starting with all new parts. You are also getting a car that was designed to go over 200mph.

Does anyone know how available parts are for the 20B?I'm might put one in another FB as soon as I find one.If parts are readily available in the US then I might look into it more.

I didn't know that the e6k could run a 3 rotor engine.I thought only the EM11 had that compatability

well if you want to have a timing split, you cant use the e6k. if you run with 0 timing split than you can do it, its kinda of a moot point though because you if you go haltech just get an e11
