The old tranny mount is the stocker with a piece of 3/16" flat stock welded to it to allow the tranny rubber mount to be forward by 85mm from the stock boinger location. My idea is to move the tranny mount back by 75mm, thereby giving me the 160mm I need to fit a 20B. I've got three pieces of 1/4" flat stock to form into a U shape. The old one was in a T shape, which if reversed, would get in the way of the gearbox.



The tranny is an old style ribcase from a Cosmo or something. j9fd3s says it will be strong enough for an NA 20B, and I don't doubt that.

Cool.I work at a fab shop as a welder right now so I can fab anything I need when it comes to swap parts. The only perk of the job.

Can you weld aluminum? I've got an intake manifold here the needs to be messed with.



Now I'm off to finish the pan and try to get the pulley stuff figured out.

I wish I could weld aluminum. My 39" intercooler core would be getting mounted on my FB.

That would be a nice intercooler to use.



I figured out my pulley stuff. Now I know how to get it all aligned accurately and start marking it. I just need to get the pan taken care of so I can flip the engine back over on the stand to get to the pulley stuff. I think I'll be able to get to it today.

I didn't get to it yet, but during a brainstorming session, I figured out a cool way to have an accurate dipstick with a 13B pan located further forward than the stock sump and dipstick would nomally be. It's still in the preliminary stages, but it looks like it's going to work. Heh, that's kinda how this whole project has been so far; since it's never been done before, everything has to be made from scratch.



I also found out the upper turbo oil sending banjo fitting on the front plate near the CAS can be blocked by a simple oil drain plug with M14 threads. That is, they share the same thread pitch. I still have to flip the engine around to see if the machined area around the hole will accept an oil drain plug. If it won't, I think I've got an extra copper crush washer to space it up like 1mm or 1.5mm or whatever the thickness is.



I'm still wating for ZLAKLR to check out this thread. The 3trotor.com forum just came back online, so he probably hasn't read my PM yet.

No update today? Well, not really. I made a big list of what I need to get and do to make this 20B project work. I was getting tired of trying to remember all of it all the time. I also worked on getting a piston powered car ready to sell. Just gotta vacuum it a little and it'll be read' ta go.
