It was a wrecker car so now he needs it all re-inspected.You might want to dump the 13b in it then pass the inspection and take it from there. At least then you could drive it for the day after it pass'

I think I'll do a 13B first. It shouldn't take much time at all to install and get running. Certain things can be reused on the 20B, so it'll work out ok.

I've got a set of R5 plates and some worn but usable rotor housings. I am going to half bridgeport it and put it in my REPU. I was also going to put my REPU's engine in my Midget. Instead, it'll briefly go into the GLC. The Midget will have to wait a little while I guess. This plan works for me.

I've got to buy a gasket kit and a few seals. I already have a set of Viton oil O rings, which Judge Ito says are not very good to use. They're what I used in the 13B that went into the white REPU, and it doesn't smoke too much (less than it did before the rebuild). I also have a Holley double pumper that looks like it's been modified for use on a rotary. It also came off of a 12A RB manifold. It should be ok on a half bridgey 13B, I guess. It'll be fun finding out. I'll break in the engine with my REPU's stock carb. It's only like 500 miles, so my GLC won't feel like it's been left alone for too long.

So I decide to take a break from working on the GLC for one day... and then it starts screaming at me!?! What the?

(My GLC project is starting to turn into the Screamopillar from that one episode of the Simpsons. Without constant reassurance, it could die.)

See any resemblance?

What a difference a day makes.

Sometimes you get too close to the work and things sort of stop 'working'. That's why they invented vacations. It's about the law of diminishing returns, like a movie sequel. The trick is to trick yourself and/or others into not diminishing their/your interest in the subject in question.

So anyway, I had been working too hard on this 20B GLC project, mainly because it's never been done before and I wanted to be the first one to do this, and I want to try get it done in time for sevenstock. But I was starting to get burned out and needed a break from it. Sevenstock is coming up quick and it'd be real nice to get this done by then, and I know if I pace myself, I will.

I went ahead and painted some stuff today. Tomorrow the fuel cell is going in. I'll have to decide which side of the sheet metal the bars are going on tomorrow. This whole 'sandwich the sheet metal' thing has been kind of a head scratcher for the past week while I've been doing other work on the car. Well, I' ve finished everything I can do before the cell goes in. Now it's time to actually mount it. I'm going to do what Blake Qually did with a browny tin.

Hmm, maybe I should't have painted my sheet metal yet? Oh well, I'll hit it with another coat if it needs it once the baking tin is in place.
