Vacume advance on distribitor

Ok I got a Racing/Beat Holley conversion on my car...
Im running a 600 Dbl pumper so I dont use the vacume advance on the distribtor..
I cant remeber if you pull it out and lock it down..or if you push it in and lock it down... right now I have it pushed in
BTW its a 12A...
