does mazda have a problem w/ throwout bearings, ive heard quite a lot of them going out, but only on mazdas...?

i see more pilot bearings die, mazda doesnt put any grease on them and sometimes nobody else does either.

Mazda's throw-out bearing design is really no different then any other manufacturers design I don't see why it would. Usually throw-out bearings go bunk because people don't know how to drive a manual tranny car and drive around with their foot resting on the clutch pedal.

I hate it when people buy a 5sp and don't know how to drive it. :rant:

Heaps of clutches get burnt out that way.

When I was dealer-shopping for my first car (read: non-mazda), one of the salesman told me that a lot of manuals come back with burnt clutches from older asian women drivers, because they don't like the jerky feeling of letting the clutch out and pushing in the accel, so they leave their foot on the clutch.

I heard that its the #1 reason for premature clutch failure.Damn women.
