Release Bearing? Vs Throw Out Bearing?

Confused about the term.



is a release bearing the same as a throwout bearing for clutches?

pilot bearing keeps the input shaft aligned and captive



release bearing pushes on the clutch fingers, therefore for clutching the clutch
