I want to switch my clutch fan, for an electric fan; i own a '79 rx7 with a 13B engine, i believe that it has a three row radiator, what electric fan would you get and where can i find one, for a reasonable price

yep go with summit. I believe that you can get a 10" fan maximum, due to the oil cooler. I'm pretty sure thats the size I got for my '79. Get a fanswitch!! don't be ghetto and get a toggle switch, one day you will forget and then it's too late. there are 3 types of switches. 1 you have to tap the thermostat housing to screw in the switch(pain in ***) 2. has a sensor type rod that slips inbetween the radiator cooling fins(sucks) 3 has a similat temp sensing tube, but it goes inside the radiator and then the upper hose goes over it(works good) . The one I got was like $30 and was temp. adjustable. excellent

Why not just run the fan off the ignition thru a switch??Where can you get that switch you have a labeled as 3?

Theres some good info from a guy who's already done all the leg work here. http://www.rx7.voodoobox.net/howto/efan/efan.html

He went with the Black magic from Summit.

we have had 2 of those black magic fans have circuit board problems, its easy to resolder but you have to make sure you dont cook the motor first

I don't think deep frying the motor is a good thing. :smirk:
