I have been told my 85 series 3 should have a buzzer when the revs hit a certain point, can anyone tell me when it should operate? cheers

I had mine up to 6 once and it started making a weird kinda buzz noise. Redline is 7, I figured it was just a bad idea to do that when I hear it. 13B in mine.

Now that I've messed with it some more, I don't think thats what I was hearing at 6k. It sounds different in different gears, so I assume it's a "don't do that again" warning sound instead.

The buzzer is a redline buzzer, should come on at about 7k rpm (obviously it is not exact and some cars will be a little before and some a little after). It is not until the 6 series that it moves to 8k.

But all the buzzer is telling you is "YEAH!" and that you are cleaning out carbon. feel free to make it scream whenever you want!
