how would i check the pressure the pump is pushing without a pressure tester?

this sounds really dumb but have you played with the idle mixture screw?

yes and its set fine. do you know if a gslse fuel pump is inside or outside of the gas tank.

what if i take the gslse pump and put it on the 83 12a and install a pressure regulator?

You need a strong as hell regulator to with stand the 20-30psi not being used.Not saying it won't work but you need a damn good regulator.

Holley has one thats ******* bad *** and can withstand just about any pressure, but im just going to the junkyard and ganking a stock 83 pump. but thanks anyways and ill get back to you guys tomorrow about how it works out.

check this, fuel pump fixed my problem. but wants to cut off randomly, making the car do the same thing as before, think wiring is just loose. but if my timing and mixture are off enough, would that m,ake the car stall out after pushing the choke in?...car runs fine, idles very high when choke pulled out. push choke in, car cuts off? oh and the fuel pump that was on my car....doesnt belong on an rx, not sure what car it came from.
