ok im working on a 84 it was low on r12 so we vacumed it down and installed new oil and r134. well we had to hot wire the clutch to get it to work. i have tried all kinda stuff. it was 70-75 deg out there and we had 30 psi on the suction side and 170 on the discharge side. we got really good cold air out. ok now i have gone throught the wireing all seems good im getting cont. throught them all the presure switch (on the dryer up front)is "closed" im getting no cont. throught the freeze switch (inside the car) with or with out the a/c running. everthing seems to work right all the fuses are good and everything is pluged up but it wont kick on the clutch any ideas?

I am a little confused about the post. So you did jumper the two wires going to the pressure switch and the clutch did not kick in?

So if you are not low on refrigerant then the pressure switch needs replaced. Only conclusion I can draw
